I am a full-time public school teacher in upstate New York. I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a master's degree in Literacy. I am certified to teach K-6 Elementary, English 7-9, Gifted K-12, and Reading Support K-12.
Currently, I am in my fifth year of teaching third grade. It's a great age to teach because the kids are young enough to still love school, but old enough to have unique personalities and a sense of humor. Many of the worksheets in the Math Riddle Book were designed for my third grade students. They were such a success with parents and other teachers, that I decided to publish them and share them with others on the Web.
In the past, I have also taught 2nd and 4th grades, as well as a K-4 Gifted and Talented program. I enjoy changing grade levels and positions - it keeps me fresh. :)
In the summer, I run a Computer Camp at the district where I teach. This is my favorite time of the year because I get to do all kinds of fun technology projects; I get to teach kids to use digital cameras, design their own iron-on transfer t-shirts on the computer, and use cool gadgets like our school SmartBoard.
On the side, I design educational websites for students and teachers. Right now, I think I have about a dozen of them. Have you seen my biggest site, Super Teacher Worksheets (superteacherworksheets.com)? It's filled with hundreds of free printables for teachers!
I hope you and your students enjoy the worksheets in the Math Riddle Book. I created them because I believe that practicing math drills throughout the school year is essential in helping kids master math concepts. Without regular practice, students tend to forget basic processes needed to solve math problems. But I also know that traditional math drills aren't much fun. Math Riddle Book combines the importance of math drill practice with the fun of riddles and puzzles.
I am overwhelmed by the positive response I have gotten to this eBook. I have posted a few of my favorite e-mails on the fan mail page.
